The Winner

The stallion was a winner and he knew what to do

He had a great mentor long, long, ago

The desire was put in him and he was the very best

The great schooling instilled under his commander’s hand was met

With bit in his mouth and the halter on

The powerhouse of strength,

The stallion pawed the ground.

The great stallion, stilled patiently waiting his commander’s touch

He was ready, trained, and willing to run the race

This was instilled in him long, long, ago

Trained in obedience in the mentors school

The stallion obeyed the leading and the will

Of the great mentors hand

The command of obedience

Gave him first place

Now they are winners

The two hand in hand

Have won the race
