God’s Friday

Mimi’s Mini Devotionals

Our Holy Week Day of the week today is called Good Friday. This day has also been called God’s Friday.

In order to understand what this day means to us as Christians let me first give you an assignment and ask you to do something.

I want you to go out today and find a complete stranger or meet up with someone that has not been your favorite friend in the past. I want you to give them your cell phone, your new eyeshadow, your favorite tennis shoes and any allowance you may have saved up. Before you walk away from them, also let them know that you will give them everything you have.

Ok, you are thinking right now, Mimi you have lost your mind! Why would I give up all my luxuries, my money, my stuff for some one who doesn’t deserve it, may not appreciate it or worked for it like I did?

When you are willing to give up something to someone in order to help them who has not earned it, does not deserves it or even appreciates it, this is called sacrifice. Giving up all of your stuff to help others today can be very painful, but you do it anyway because Mimi asked you to do it. You know it’s gonna be hard and hurt, but you choose to obey me regardless of the pain and suffering.

God sent Jesus his only Son out to a world of sinful, undeserving and unappreciative people to give up everything he had, even His life so that they could have eternal life in heaven.

Jesus obeyed His Father and experienced all the pain and death for us so that we could be called Gods sons and daughters. That Friday of horrible suffering became Good Friday for us because Jesus obeyed and sacrificed himself.

God says sin is bad. He says sin must be dealt with. And God sent Jesus to us and to the Cross to deal with our sin.  Yes , Jesus gave up all, he was the sacrifice for your sin and mine.

Jesus was perfect in every way and He loved us so much that He suffered for us and died a horrible death for us to have life everlasting.

Tell God how much you love Him and love Jesus for saving us from all our sins. Thank Him for Good Friday and ask Him to help you obey all His Commands.

Mimi loves you, and Jesus loves you more than you can ever know. He loved you enough to die for you.

“He (Jesus) the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” – John 2:2

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.” – John 3:16-17

Happy Good Friday
