Quiet Reflections with Jill

Divine Appointment!!

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to lead a telemarketer to the Lord. This experience bolstered my faith and has encouraged me to step out in faith more often.

In 2 Timothy 4:2 (NKJV), God’s word reminds me to “Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching.”

Also in Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV) the bible states, “The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”

By reflecting on these scriptures, the questions we can ask ourselves are:

  1. How does God want to use us?
  2. Who does He want to touch through our lives today?

This is a wonderful prayer the Lord loves to answer.

As we make ourselves available, He can then prompt us and move us to action. It is often an exciting journey knowing our days are divinely orchestrated by God, much more than we know. In order to ready myself for action, I have been using various methods to share the good news of the gospel.

One way is offering those He puts in my path the “Fathers Love Letter”. This beautifully written letter has brought many searching hearts peace with God. As I faithfully hand them out to hungry hearts, seeds from the Word of God are planted into the soil of their hearts.

Another method that I use is the “Two Kinds Of People” approach. I heard about this method through a book I read called Simply Supernatural by Joshua Mills. This method of soul winning is a win/win approach. You simply begin by saying, “There are two types of people I love to speak with. One is someone who is saved and the other is someone who is about to be saved. Which one are you?” This approach has led to many a conversation with those who are seeking to know about God and his love, as none of us are ever finished knowing about the abundant love of God.

Recently I was inspired by a sermon at church taken from the familiar story in Luke 4 which talks about the women at the well. A very spiritually thirsty women who intersects with the Divine. I crave for moments like this, when we come face to face with the one who knows us better than we know ourselves. Who speaks truth and transforms us forever. After listening to that sermon I felt strongly compelled to seal the deal with my Muslim friend. Not only did she invite JESUS into her heart, but her former husband did as well.

Now I speak joy in the journey as you ask the Lord for moments of grace and truth. He is full of grace and truth and longs to intersect your life. God bless you and shine!!!
